Dexter v.s. Dirigo

The Dexter Tigers Boys basketball team fell just short losing to Dirigo 63-60 in the state championship.

The Tigers were led by Avery Gagnon with 27 points. Will Kusnierz added 12 points and Seth Robbins 10.

The Cougars were led by Charlie Houghton with 21 points including a game winning three point shot.

The Tigers finished the season with a 16-6 record

Tournament

Dexter Boys Basketball defeated GSA in a 42-40 comeback win to bring home the Northern Maine Regional Championship.

The Tigers defeated Lee Academy 67-39 in the quarterfinals. They were led by Will Kusnierz with a game high 29 points. Seth Robbins finished with 15 points. 

Dexter then went on to upset top ranked Fort Kent 58-48 in the Semifinal. They were led by Will Kusnierz and Avery Gagnon who finished with 22 and 19 points a piece. Seth Robbins also chipped in with 10 points. 

The Tigers were able to defend their Regional Championship from 2 years ago with an unbelievable comeback win over GSA after being down 23-2 at the end of the first quarter. The Tigers were led by Will Kusnierz with 14 points, and Kayden Kimball and Seth Robbins with 8 points a piece. 

The Tigers are now 15-5 on the season and will go on to play Dirigo in the State Final on Saturday at 8:45 Pm at the Augusta Civic Center.

Dexter v.s Foxcroft Academy

The Dexter Tigers Boys Basketball team suffered a tough 68-60 loss to Foxcroft Academy to finish the regular season 

The Tigers were led by Will Kusnierz with a game high 22 points. Seth Robbins also added 18 points with 5 three pointers. Avery Gagnon added 14 points respectively. 

The Ponies were led by Filip Birkic and Adam Connor who added 15 points apiece. 

The Tigers finish the season with a record of 12-5 and are heading into the tournament as the 4th seed.

Dexter v.s. PVHS

The Dexter Tigers Boys Basketball team pulled off a 40-24 win against PVHS on 2/5

Will Kusnierz and Seth Robbins led the Tigers with 12 points each. Bryce Connor also added 11 points. 

Reed led the Howlers with 6 points.

The Tigers are now 12-4 and will face Foxcroft on Thursday in their final regular season game.

Dexter v.s Central

The Dexter Tigers Boys’ Basketball team suffered a tough 43-41 loss on senior night against Central.

Will Kusnierz led the Tigers with a game high 17 points. Bryce Connor also added 14 points.

Nick Schlipstien led the Red Devils with 11 points.

The Tigers will head to Howland on Saturday to face PVHS.

Dexter v.s PCHS

The Dexter Tigers Boys Basketball Team got a 51-30 win on the road at PCHS.

The Tigers were led by Bryce Connor with 18 points and Avery Gagnon with 13. Kayden Kimball and Will Kusnierz each added 6 points.

The Pirates were led by Trevor Hawthorn with 9 points 

The Tigers are now 11-3 and will host Central on Thursday for Senior Night.

Dexter v.s. Penquis

The Dexter Boys Basketball team added to the win column on 1/27 with a 50-36 win over Penquis. 

The Tigers were led by Will Kusnierz with 16 points. Avery Gagnon also added 10 points. Seth Robbins and Bryce Connor added 8 points each.

The Patriots were led by LJ Shaw with 16 points.

The Tigers are now 10-3 and will face PCHS on 1/31

Dexter v.s Stearns

The Dexter Boys Basketball team suffered a tough 55-50 loss against Stearns on 1/25

The tigers were led by Kayden Kimball with 18 points. Bryce Connor and Will Kusnierz added 12 and 11 points respectively. 

The Minutemen were led by Caden Raymond with 19 points

The Tigers are now 9-3 and will face Penquis on 1/27

Dexter v.s Searsport

The Dexter Boys Basketball team wins their second straight game as they defeat Searsport 55-50.

The Tigers were led by Will Kusnierz with 30 points. Bryce Connor also added 13 points.

The Vikings were led by Josh Wright with 16 points.

The Tigers are now 9-2 and will face Stearns on 1/25.


Dexter v.s Mattanawcook Academy

The Dexter Boys Basketball Team ends their losing streak with a 42-29 win over Mattanawcook Academy. 

The Tigers were led by Kayden Kimball with 15 points. Will Kusnierz and Avery Gagnon added ten points each. 

The Lynx were led by Justyn Colorado with 10 points. 

The Tigers are now 8-2 and will face Searsport on 1/22.


Dexter v.s. Foxcroft Academy

Dexter loses second in a row, falls to Foxcroft Academy 53-22

The Tigers were led by Avery Gagnon and Bryce Connor who added 9 points a piece. Dexter was missing 3 of their starters due to Covid and Injury. 

The Ponies were led by Josh Cornett and Gideon Topolski who added 9 points each. 

This loss snapped the Tigers 25 game win streak at home. The last time the Tigers lost on their home court was to Mattanawcook Academy in 2018.

The Tigers are now 7-2 and will face Searsport on Wednesday.


Dexter v.s. GSA

A shorthanded tigers are given their first loss of the season from GSA 41-21 

The Tigers were led by Avery Gagnon who finished with 12 points. The Tigers, who were already missing two starters due to Covid, lost another when Dexter Senior Guard Seth Robbins went down in the second quarter with an ankle injury.

The Eagles were led by David Gatsby who finished with 16 points 

The Tigers are now 7-1 and will host foxcroft Academy on 1/10

Dexter v.s. Stearns

A second half run helps Dexter remain unbeaten v.s. Stearns with a 67-49 Win.

Dexter was led by Will Kusnierz with a game high 27 points. Seth Robbins and Avery Gagnon also added 11 points each. Bryce Connor finished with 9 points.

The Minutemen were led by Elliot Shearer who finished with 18 points. 

Dexter is now 7-0 and will face GSA on 1/8


Dexter v.s. PVHS

Strong defense helped the tigers remain undefeated against PVHS on 12/30

The Tigers were led by Will Kusnierz with a game high 24 points and 13 rebounds Seth Robbins also added 6 points. 

The Howlers of PVHS were led by Ryan Thompson with 8 points. 

The Tigers are now 5-0 and Will Host GSA on Tuesday the 4th

Dexter v.s. Central

The Dexter Boys basketball team pulled off a 60-57 comeback win against Central on 12/28

The Tigers were led by Will Kusnierz with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 3 Assists. Kayden Kimball added 14 points off the bench. Avery Gagnon added 12 points and 6 rebounds. 

The Red Devils of Central were led by Simon Allen, Who finished with 25 points( 5 3-pointers)

The Tigers are now 4-0 and will host PVHS on 12/30


Dexter v.s. PCHS

The Dexter boys basketball team defeated PCHS 72-36 on 12/20 in Dexter.

The Tigers were led by Will Kusnierz with a game high 26 points. Seth Robbins tallied 14 points, while Avery Gagnon and Bryce Connor added 7 and 6 points respectively. 

The Pirates of PCHS were led by Matt Chadbourne, who finished with 11 points 

The Tigers are now 3-0 and will face off against the Red Devils of Central High on 12/28

Dexter v.s. Penquis

The Dexter boys basketball team defeated Penquis 54 to 34 on 12/17 in Milo.

The Tigers were led by Will Kusnierz with a game high 16 points. Avery Gagnon and Bryce Connor added 11 and 10 points respectively. Seth Robbins and Will Spratt also tallied 9 and 8 points.

The Patriots were led by Max Wells, who finished with 14 points. 

The Tigers are now 2-0 and will play PCHS on 12/20
